MD is designed to render to HTML, when there's a proper build, I'd expect a Readme.html, if anything. But the builds released now are not "real" builds. They are pretty much just a git clone of the project.

ref: Brackets Sprint 9 Build (6-4-2011) Windows does not ship with MarkDown readers ;) Perhaps a few devs have the .md extension mapped to their favorite editor, but more people can read .htm or even .txt files. README.md.txt would work for a quick fix, since there is little markdown aside from a few links. cheers
