chore: switch default branch from master to main #32

There's no reason why the default branch should remain master.

We love to entertain you :)

I'm just using the PR to get a peer review on the code changes that go with the switch, and to raise awareness that master will go away. I won't actually merge it, but instead switch the default branch to main and then delete master.

Btw thanks for the hint about the rename branch feature in GH!
