First of all values should be changeable by hovering over a value and use the mouse finger be draging left and right to change the value.
The tools should be available in one single row like other Adobe software.
The canvas size should be changeable directly in the properties inspector (like in the Flash PI)
Gestures like pinch to zoom should be supported
When you click on an element the folder in the layers panel should open up and the layer should be highlighted.
The Filters should have their own panel. The little space they have right now in Properties panel is horrible.
The one about highlighting the layers x2. When you have lots of different elements, it would be nice to be easier to identify in the layers panel. Also, if possible, being able to apply colors to layers. Helps a lot visually to identify quickly.
Applying colors to layers is a good one. Even if I am not often have using the layers panel, because most tasks could be done in the properties inspector.
I like the filters in the properties inspector, because this way it is object based editable over the properties inspector. But it would be great if the filter would be shown in the layers panel with an icon. If you click on the icon there could be a special menu / panel for filter.
I've been waiting a while for Fireworks to have opacity shortcuts like Photoshop. You press 6 for 60% opacity, 8 for 80% and 8 5 for 85%, etc.
Also, the spring-loaded tools introduced in Photoshop CS4 would be of great help in Fireworks.
Regarding the shortcuts for changing opacity, it's not as automatic as in Ps, but you could create keyboard shortcuts for the common percentages with this extension: http://johndunning.com/fireworks/about/ToggleOpacity
Just copy and rename the file for each opacity you want, e.g., Toggle Opacity - 10%.jsf, Toggle Opacity - 20%.jsf, etc., then assign a keyboard shortcut to each one.
Let's share some UI enhancements here! A lot of user complain about the "old fashion" not Adobe like UI of Fireworks.
