update to v4.12 with ember-cli-update #742

This is attempting to remove just the first commit from https://github.com/adopted-ember-addons/ember-cp-validations/pull/736 so that we can have more isolated PRs doing one thing 👍

CI is being a bit flaky at the moment and I'm trying to identify what exactly the issue is 🤔
