Overview Page for Variants #2

first of all, amazing work with all your 5d tooling :smile:

I already opened this issue which partly addresses my ideal state. But long story short. I think a more user friendly approach to variants would be awesome.

  1. The first step in this direction would be a website for this repo where the preview.png s are linked with their download files and names, so one can get an overview of all the different variants.

(This is also smth the steam game misses. You always have to know the variants by their name. There is no preview)

  1. While the creation of variants works like a charm with the variant editor. There is no easy way to publish created variants. Yes, one can submit a pull request, but this might be a entry barrier for non github users. One possible fix might be here a save button, which automaticly pushes the variant into a public repo and generates a link accordingly. But I am just brainstorming :see_no_evil:

For everyone else following, we decided to create a whole wiki, where you can contribute. This is the page for the variant overview. A handy feature would be to push this githubs info to the wiki via their api, but it is probably less time consuming doing it by hand.
