Updating channel list(s) does not list previously removed channels. #3

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Remove a channel from the channel list.
2. Refresh channel list
3. Previously removed channel(s) still not available in channel list.

Eg.

Once a tv- or radio channel is removed from channel list I won't re-apear after
channel list refresh.

Delete / re-install TV-Maxe doesn't help.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.05 (32-bit) on Ubuntu 11.04 (0.04 on Ubuntu 11.04 - same problem)

Question: How to get all channels, incl. previously removed channels, available
in channel list?

Let me understand... You removed a channel, refreshed the channel list and the
removed channel no longers appear? Isn't this the normal behaviour? Because you
deleted that channel...

Oh, that's different. The "Refresh" function is used to update the channel
list, if there were made changes on it while the application was running. Its
purpose isn't to reset the list to default.

Currently TV-MAXE doesn't offer any way to un-delete channels. The only thing
you can do is to edit the configuration file (~/.tvmaxe) and remove the
blacklisted URLs from "blacklist" option, in the "General" section.

...ok - If this behavior was intended then yes, it would be normal behavior. I
won't argue with that.

Once a channel or channels are removed from the list, they won't re-appear
after a channel list refresh. There is no option to *reset* to *default*, its
not reversible.

Even a fresh install or re-install of TV-Maxe does not resolve the problem.

Any workarounds to resolve my problem would be much appreciated.

As I said in the previous comment, just edit the TV-MAXE configuration file
(found in /home/YOUR_USERNAME/.tvmaxe) and remove the blacklisted URLs from
"blacklist" option, in the "General" section (or just delete the line beggining
with "blacklist").

In 0.0.7 I will change the current behaviour, so the user will be able to hide
and unhide TV channels from list.

To do this, just delete /home/YOUR_USERNAME/.tvmaxe,
/home/YOUR_USERNAME/.tvmaxe_ch and /home/YOUR_USERNAME/.tvmaxe_subscriptions.
This should bring TV-MAXE in it's default configuration mode.

Works like a charm, thank you! That said, for some reason the corresponding
channel icons for the previously black listed channels are still missing.

...i was wondering; is it possible to remove the current channellist(s). then
(re-)subscribe and refresh - as in first install.

Closing because, as with 0.07, TV-Maxe will offer the posibility to un-delete
removed TV-Channels
