So I have a Lenovo Legion y520 and I tried to install hackintosh with Open core and everything went fine

but for some reason bluetooth works and wifi doesn't

Can you help me?

adrianjagielak commented 3 years ago

Try with the latest build of AirportItlwm from here: https://github.com/1hbb/OpenIntelWireless-Factory/releases/tag/2021-05-07--16-07-08

I just have another question because I'm noob at this xD

So I have to copy the kekts to the EFI/OC/Kekts folder and then I open OC configurator and update the config. plist file is that right?

adrianjagielak commented 3 years ago

Don't worry, it makes me very proud seeing other people using my EFI no matter how advanced are they. You just need to download AirportItlwm-BigSur.zip, extract it and replace the .kext in EFI/OC/Kexts.

whoa ok ok thx a lot man

Thanks for sharing your EFI btw

It was really helpfull

adrianjagielak commented 3 years ago

No problem Enjoy a new great hackintosh:)

AndryTheBeast commented 3 years ago

So ok... I should have started by this sorry...

When I tried your EFI for the first time was on Big Sur off course and wifi didn't work

Then I tried with mojave and everything works as for big sur but the wifi thing still doesn't

Now I tried what you said on mojave and it's still the same

PS: I'm can't speak english very well, soo if you don't understand something that I said ask me xD

adrianjagielak commented 3 years ago

What language do you speak? (Im not native also).

You should have created an issue when you tried to install Big Sur, I would have helped:)

As for the wifi if you are saying you are on mojave you should download AirportItlwm-Mojave.zip instead

I'm portuguese...

But I found the issue with my PC

So I've done some research and I found that there are two versions of Legion y520

the one with Qualcomm Atheros wifi card and the one with Intel dualband image

And mine is Qualcomm Atheros soo RIP

sorry for wasting you time :(

adrianjagielak commented 3 years ago

Oh, sorry, I forgot that there are multiple Y520 versions.

You better buy some cheap Intel wifi card for that full Hackintosh experience :) (the Y520 is very easy to unscrew and replace parts in)

vfxbro commented 1 year ago

Will these cards work?

@vfxbro check here and here

vfxbro commented 1 year ago

@adrianjagielak Can you tell me what model of wi-fi card you have for Lenovo Y520 ?

Thx.

adrianjagielak commented 1 year ago

@vfxbro I no longer have Lenovo Y520 but google tells me I probably had Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless AC 3165

adrianjagielak commented 1 year ago

Ideally you would want to buy something from the first list (BCM943602, BCM94360, BCM94352 or BCM94350), that way you don't need any kexts and have wifi/bluetooth working natively (including AirDrop which Intel cards does not yet support)
