designer_1.jar is getting corrupted when opening designer from within Eclipse #100

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open a resource file in Eclipse, either by double-clicking, or context menu

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The attached exception is thrown, and the designer_1.jar in the home directory
is zero bytes. Even copying a new designer.jar file over, it gets zero byted
next time you execute designer.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Build 1.0.0.201203151627 on Eclipse Indigo 3.7.2 on Ubuntu 11.10

Attached is the stacktrace in the console when trying to open designer.

Also, I verified this same behaviour is specific to eclipse.
