SMSdroid layout style is only updated after app restart #735

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Goto SMSdroid display settings
2. Toggle new layout style (tiles)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should enable/disable tiled style for conversation overview immediately. 
Instead nothing happens. The layout change only applies after the app is 
restarted (requires full termination e.g. per taskmanager)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Using SMSdroid v1.3.2 & Android 4.0.3 on Samsung Galaxy S2

Please provide any additional information below.
If this is the indented behavior then there should be at least a pop-up to 
notify the user about the required app restart.
