Send a new sms without a existing thread #826

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to send sms to a contact never writed before
2. Only a real sms (with higher costs), not a sms with Websms is possible
3. So only ""answering"" is possible to send via smsdroid to Websms?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Send messages to contacs never writed before.

What version of the product are you using? "Last" is not appropriate. Make
sure you tell at least which app you are using. On what operating system?
Smsdroid 1.5.
Android 4.1.1

Please provide any additional information below.

just unset the default sms app as "default app". this is normal android
behavior and has nothing to do with the app.

Thank you for the answer. But my problem is not that i cannot write a message
with smsdroid to contacts never writed before (without a existing thread). I
use the button with the email logo and the + at the top. But when I send the
message it is send via gsm (like I writed it with the standard sms app).
Smsdroid will not send it via websms. Messages with existing threads are
wirking perfectly. So the first messages have to be a real sms, a answer or a
message via websms directly?

well, you need to choose websms, not smsdroid to send the message when the
chooser appears (before entering text).

if you set the default app already to smsdroid: go to android's app settings ->
smsdroid -> clear defaults.
