No notification in SMSdroid 1.6

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install latest version of SMSdroid (1.6).
2. Make sure you have a notification tone and vibration set.
3. Send a text to your phone.
4. The visual notification in the notification bar will appear. Neither the 
notification tone sounds nor does the phone vibrate.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: The selected notification tone is played & the phone vibrates.
Instead: The phone remains silent and does not vibrate.

What version of the product are you using? "Last" is not appropriate. Make
sure you tell at least which app you are using. On what operating system?

1.6 of Feb 9th, 2014. OS is Android 4.1.2 on a Samsung GT-I8190 (S3 mini).
