Cant set SMSDroid as default sms app on 4.4.2 KitKat (cm11)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install SMSDroid on 4.4.2 cm11
2. Go to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> More... -> Default SMS App
3. SMSDroid is not shown there for some reason
4. kinda retarded i know but i follow the preset form ^^

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
SMSDroid should show up in the above mentioned menu but for some reason it 
doesnt.

What version of the product are you using? "Last" is not appropriate. Make
sure you tell at least which app you are using. On what operating system?
SMSDroid v1.6.1 on Android 4.4.2 (cm11)

Please provide any additional information below.
I guess they changed smth with 4.4.2 which somehow causes SMSDroid to not being 
recognized as a sms app. Without it being set as default app i constantly get 
the "it needs to be default to work properly"-popup and the "mark all 
read"-button at the top doesnt work because of that i guess.
Aside from that u made a great app.

I have the same problem on 4.4.4. However, in the beginning it worked. Since a 
few days ago SMSdroid says it is not the standard app every time I start it. 
And notifications don't vanish after reading a message. I cannot set it as 
default. Neither bei hand as described in the original post, nor by dedicated 
apps.

I had this problem too with 4.4.4. Reinstalling SMSdroid fixed the problem for 
me.
