[quick-add-to-playlist] Extension dysfunctional (sometimes works, sometimes doesn't)

I recently ran into an issue where the plugin fails to load entirely and I have to manually install it. Even after doing this, sometimes the icon remains a loading icon and the option to select a playlist isn't presented. spicetify v2.36.3 spotify v1.2.34.783.g923721d9

Hello there! I have to admit that, indeed, my extension isn't the most stable, but I use it almost everyday and I've never been in a case where it's permanently stuck.

Whenever it looks like it doesn't work, here are two things I always do:

• make sure spicetify is up to date (spicetify upgrade): the extension relies on spicetify stuffs, which often breaks when spotify updates
• then, make sure you have selected a playlist: currently, the icon displayed when no playlist is selected is the loading icon, which is a bit misleading -> I'll try to update the extension to make a new icon for this state

And concerning the errors you posted, I'll try to have a look at it 👀

In my OP I provided my spotify and spicetify versions, both are latest. And concerning your second suggestion, I am aware the loading icon is a "placeholder" until you select a playlist. The problem was I wasn't presented with the option to select a playlist when right clicking them.

I just completely uninstalled spotify and spicetify to determine if there is a conflict of extensions. On the latest clean installation of both spotify and spicetify, when installing from the marketplace, the plugin doesn't show up at all. This is why I mentioned in the OP that I had to manually load the plugin by downloading it from your repo and adding it to the config xml. Even then, I ran into the issue where I wasn't presented with the option to select a playlist.

Same issue. Installed from marketplace haven't seen it working since yesterday, always loading icon. Only working part of plugin was found in spotify settings where I could change color.

Love the idea of this extension, I use quick-add-to-queue a lot. Thank you for working on this!

It's weird because I'm using this extension on a daily basis and I don't have any problem 😞 Could you provide more informations about how you're using it? Are you selecting an empty playlist? Are you the creator of the playlist? Or any other informations that might help me reproduce the issue?

And for the missing icon, I am aware, I removed it because I found the placeholder icon to be better than my awful self-designed icon... If you have some design skills, feel free to contribute 😁

I did try to install all my extension manually and did try to remove everything but quick-add-to-playlist, same issue

Some update on this issue, I still haven't really had the time to dig into it, but after experiencing it today I found a quick workaround:

1. make sure you're up-to-date (spicetify upgrade)
2. even if you are up-to-date, run spicetify apply -- after that the extension started working again for me 🤷
