As reported by @infinitebuffalo, this tweet should have a reply from the twitter bot, but its not included in the thread.

The logs show that the twittter bot correctly identified the tweet as one needing a reply, and correctly replied to it:

A few notes on the twitter bot implementation:

• It is normal for the bot to continually check tweets like this. For each batch, it just checks the 15 most recent tweets from @311DCgov, so as long as it is within the top 15 tweets, it will be checked continually.
• The twitter bot has no database or memory. It knows it has replied to a tweet because it checks the tweets from @dc311rn to see if there is one which has already replied to this tweet ID.

This implies that the reply-to tweet was correctly set, but Twitter is not including it in the thread for some reason.

Also interesting: twitter seems to think that this tweet is unavailable, but when clicking through to the tweet, it is available:

Going to shrug this one off as “Twitter was weird” — let’s keep an eye out to see if this happens again.
