This problem went away. I have no explanation. This device is very bad :p
This has been reported before but none of the devs have been able to reproduce it. We'll close unless it is reproducible
It seems to come and go. I can reproduce it semi-reliably. I was able to log in and do stuff, then next time I launched it I had the same problem.

If you can find a way to emulate this with a device in android studio then we can test it out. Otherwise we have to purchase this specific device to reproduce it.
I'd actually be willing to give this device to a dev if it would help to solve the issue for other users (as long as they are in north america to keep shipping down). I've concluded that I'm probably not going to get much use out of it as it has very flaky wi-fi, and it didn't cost me very much. Being used as a QA platform might be the best life for it.

What was the Problem?
When using the app on a YEOODOP YMP-A1 M4K, I am able to cycle through the tabs but I cannot open the hamburger menu. There is no response when I press it. The program is not frozen, I can still cycle the tabs after trying to open the menu.
Because I cannot access that menu to connect to the server, I cannot verify any other functionality.
The app works fine on my other device (Unihertz Titan Pocket).
Steps to Reproduce the Issue
Try to access the ABS menu on a YEOODOP YMP-A1 M4K.
What was Expected?
The menu should open.
Phone Model
YMP-A1 M4K
Phone OS
Android 8.1
Audiobookshelf App Version
Android App - 0.9.76
Installation Source
Google Play Store
Additional Notes
This device is very cheap and very naff. It has 2 GB of RAM, though according to Android that has not been exhausted (I don't really trust what Android tells me).
Note that I am just guessing about what version of the app I'm using (since I can't open the menu). It's whichever version is currently up on the play store.
On further thought, there are some things about this device which are different from many other devices:
There may be other things I'm not thinking of. Of course most of this is also true of a tablet.
