Website Down #38

Site has been down for a while, not sure if it is something you still plan to support, but I for one would appreciate it.

I tried setting up locally in the mean time, but got stuck trying to install it locally. If you can help me getting it working locally then I can just use that instead if it's easier for you.

Either way, thanks for your help! image

heroku discontinued support for free websites, and I haven't wanted to spend the money for hosting; however I'm happy to continue supporting the code and will try to fix this bug.

Also, if you happen to know anyone who would want to host this, lmk

I was unable to reproduce the issue using a fresh install of the app on my Linux Mint laptop. I'll try to build it on a Windows machine sometime this week. In the meantime, can you try seeing if npm run dev works any better?

I get the same error. Maybe it's something about how windows does paths? I don't really know enough to know for sure though I'm afraid.

A shame about heroku. Definitely understand not being willing to spend money to host it.

I agree that it's the paths. I've encountered similar issues before. It's possible that it doesn't like you using the E drive (even though it's a valid use case). Would you be willing to move the project to your OS drive and try again?

Tried it on the C drive, but that threw the same error unfortunately. I appreciate you helping with this.

Regarding free hosting, this looks most promising https://www.cyclic.sh/pricing/

There is Render. It has some limits, but free is free. https://render.com/docs/free#free-web-services
