Request for compatibility with Mobile Finder #47

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Please describe the feature request:
I purchased Mobile Finder in hopes of being able to FTP some Z5 files, but
alas, it is unsupported. Mobile Finder may be easier to get working than
Datacase. You're doing a wonderful job on this. Please keep it up!

Thanks.

I wasn't even aware of MobileFinder... thanks, I'll look into it.

DataCase uses an undocumented binary format to store its data. Their customer
support guy was friendly, but
the developer he escalated the question to never responded, so I may not be
able to support it, so it's good to
have an alternative.

I wouldn't bother. I just read that in the latest beta of iPhone OS 2.1,
applications lose the ability to read files
created by other applications, so the existing (and very useful) File Magnet
support is going to stop working, and
you won't be able to support DataCase, Mobile Finder or any other file transfer
application.

Ooh, that sucks.
Well, already did it. Mobile finder will work at least for now.

I guess people might choose not to upgrade to 2.1 if they don't want to lose
this functionality.

Where do we put Z files using MobileFinder? Make a special folder or will Frotz
check any folder under MobileFinder to see if there are any Z files? Thanks!

Frotz will look in all folders of MobileFinder recursively for files with the
common Z-code extensions.

Closing as Fixed since 1.0.1 is on iTunes.
