This idea needs more elaboration to proceed.
Tools for Visitors: Day use, overnight use, multi night use: food/water facilities (toilet locations, showers, sinks, other similar items, suggestions for best use) safety equipment (by season, by participation event (climbing, hiking, biking, camping, paddling) travel information (weather, road maps, site maps, nearest facilities, nearest fuel/vehicle repair, electrical charging) general camping/trails information (boy scout handbook style)
Tools to enable Summit Stewards (I assume these are volunteers?) Trail markers? greeting scripts in multiple languages? Repair operations suggestions (camping gear, trails maintenance, facilities maintenance, issue logging for non repairable items in the field (gps, photo, video, text).
Tools for Rangers: Incident reporting (professional level) include photo and video capture, gps coordinates, date logging, voice data logging, text/database input
Fast sharing of the app (qr code display)
Items to link for "verification" (what makes a ranger official within the app?) hardware? software key?
(I'm excited to do exactly ANYTHING on github finally that isn't just staring, please suggest better ways I can participate if you have them (guides) I'll happily remove/edit.
Adding some resources that I think are pertinent here related to Preventative Search and Rescue:
Tools to help visitors determine what they should bring, enable summit stewards, rangers, authorized parties to capture preparedness data. Use data to estimate how many are prepared, if there are certain predictive factors that can be used to target communications/outreach about preparation.
