Version used Ex: 1.4.0

Describe the bug The customer has several different issues with the search behaviour in the filter webpart, managed metadata combo box (screendump 2-5) The values in the field in Termstore is not above limit (screendump 1) I have attached some screendumps to show you which kind of issues (screendump 2-5)

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: We have to show you on the customers tenant.

  1. Go to 'search page'
  2. Click on 'filter'
  3. Scroll down to 'Multi value field "External partys"'
  4. Screendump 2-5

Expected behavior I expect the filtering to show me all the relevant results in a lookup, not only some of them.

To help us to resolve your issue, you can include screenshots or error messages coming from:

Screendump 1 - shows that the customer has 1649 terms in the termstore under External partys. It does not matter for the result, wheater the number i Values count is 2000, 5000 or as shown 7500. image

Screendump 2 - search for thys* in search box - combined with search for "Th" in the filter (combo box search on managed metadata as shown in screendump 1), brings no result image

Screendump 3 - - search for thys* in search box - combined with search for "Th" in the filter (combo box search on managed metadata as shown in screendump 1), brings two results - but there should be more. image

Screendump 4 - if I remove the search, there is no words between M and Ø (the danish equivalent of Z). image

Screendump 5 - it is not only the field "External partys, that are misbehaving. The combo box managed metadata field "Country" with somewhat 200 entries. I we search for B (as in Belgium) - we get this result: image

Hi @MichalaLange,

Thank you for reporting this issue. We will try to reproduce this behavior.

We will keep you in touch

Hi @MichalaLange,

Based on our tests, everything seems ok. Based on your screenshots and explanations, everything seems ok too:

  1. The filter is case sensitive
  2. The filter matches the results of the visualizer. If you have all your results, you should see your filter's values. If you use the search box and reduce the number of results, the number of values of the refiners will reduce too. There are connected.
  3. The values of the filters are only the metadata used by your results of the visualizer. If some metadata are not used at all, there do not appear in the filters. You can use the Taxonomy picker filter if you want to see all Managed Metadata even if no items are using them image

Hope these information will help you.
