Selenoid GGR configuration #886

Closed ashanirmala7 closed 6 months ago

Dear team,

We have around 10000 tests which needs to be completed with in a day and planning to set up selenoid with multiple GGRs. Could you please help us with the effective configuration reuired for that.

  1. Machine configuration for GGR
  2. How many selenoid machines can a single GGR can handle?
  3. Selenoid machine configuration. I have read that 1.5 * core, is the optimum thread size.

Second scenario: if i have a datadriven/keyword framework without using any runners like testNG and triggering from the Main method, what is the effective way of handling that in selenoid.

Actually ggr is old project and soon will be obsolete... Could you please consider our new project designed to be scalable and resource efficient:

Thanks for the quick response. Moon is a paid solution?

Will there be any support for ggr once that is obsolete.

aandryashin commented 4 years ago

Yes, it is our flagship product, it helps to reduce infrastructure cost and has zero effort. You can try it for free, just receive trial license from its site:

https://aerokube.com/moon/

Also please look at moon vs selenoid comparison:

And this video with detailed analysis:

@aandryashin Will Ggr still be supported in the long term, or will you be declaring an 'end of support'?

aandryashin commented 4 years ago

Ggr is working well and is exploited in many big companies with years of uptime. It solves tasks that was developed for. What do you mean end of support, what kind of features missing in ggr?

@timothyjmtan we have no plans to abandon Ggr development. Not every team will work with Kubernetes. However we consider Moon as more advanced and efficient solution.

timothyjmtan commented 4 years ago

Hi @vania-pooh , thanks for the clarification. Good to hear that Ggr will still be in development.

@aandryashin, apologies but I initially thought when you said 'ggr is old project and soon will be obsolete', it meant that you folks will stop maintaining Ggr in favour of moving everyone to Moon. I believe that was why @ashanirmala7 was also asking about Ggr support once it is obselete.
