When putting my Windows CE device into standby with navit running, after recovery it can't read from the gps sensor. This is not a navit-only problem, but appears with other programs as well (sirftech, Winfast Navigator). Anyway, I have to close and restart navit to be able to use the gps data, which is cumbersome (especially if we aim to have navit run as navigation solution run on windows ce devices by noobs)...

Suggested workaround: if gps sensor is open and does not produce any output within a given timeframe, close and reopen it.

Will try to reproduce it on my device as well.

IMHO a clean solution would be:

  • react on "going to sleep mode" messages and close gps socket (and maybe bluetooth connection)
  • react on "wakeup" messages and buildup the connections again, wait for new fix
  • How to deal with a GPS track recording? start a new file?
