Hi,

if maxspeed:backward and maxspeed:forward used by osm navit used only the default limit from the config-file.

Source: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=49.97089&lon=6.73362&zoom=16&layers=M B50 between Niederkail and Binsfeld.

If I understand correctly, Navit does not use the maximum speed from the maxspeed:backward/forward tags, it just uses the default speed. Example: this section of road: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/58360522 .

Is that what you mean?

This is not implemented at present; Navit does not read maxspeed:backward/forward information from OSM data. I also believe there's not internal support for different speeds in different directions. I'm converting this to feature request.

AFAIK the lane related mapping at OSM is just in the beginning, so I schedule it for the next major release.
