I want to use Navit with OSM on a Magellan Roadmate 1200 for Outdoor Activities. OSM has the feature to store bicycle or walking-network routes in relations. Is it possible to display this relations on the Navitmap? I have inserted the bicycle- and hiking-Item in the http://wiki.navit-project.org/index.php/Item_def.h page. But this does not change the sourcecode of Item_def.h in the svn-directory.

This is a bit more complex, as we currently have no possibility to distill networks out of OSM (maptool related) and we have no mechanism to store such informtations within our binfile.

It would be interesting, if you could please describe a specific usecase for this feature:

  • Who want's to use that features?
  • Under which conditions?
  • Should the networks just get displayed or included within the routing, too?
