Google has 23 waypoint limit per route #545

This causes issues with longer trips. In addition Google charges more money for any route that has more than 8 additional waypoints.

In 3.5 we are still limited to 23 extra waypoints but the app will continue to create routes. It will stop adding auto chargers at that point. If the user wants to add additional manual waypoints they will be prompted to allow the deletion of the last auto waypoint first.
