iPeng Volume control issues #2

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open iPeng
2. Turn on Player (SB Classic)
3. Press Play
4. iPeng Volume slider starts at 'correct' level then jumps to full volume
level (slider is all the way to the right). Actual volume does not change. Real
Problem is: to then use iPeng volume control, you must slide it back from full
(toward left), but if not done swiftly to a reasonable level, the actual volume
then spikes to a high level.

Problem is not 100% reproduceable. Occurs about 60% of the time.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Current version of Denonavprotocol
Logitech Media Server 7.7.1 running on Fedora 16
Squeezebox Classic - Toslink, fixed volume
iPeng 1.4.5

Denonavprotocol settings:
Max Volume -5
Sync Volume - Disabled

Please provide any additional information below.

This problem was introduced in LMS 7.7. In the prior server versions the GUIs
could still send and receive volumn commands regardless of the fixed volumn
settings. In the current version they have removed this capability.

I am looking for a solution but it really needs to be addressed in LMS and not
the plugin or iPeng.

The problem was with LMS and fixed volumes. I have also updated the plugin to
be more reponsive to commands.
