Extreme volume discrepancies at lower levels #23

Hi,

Thank you for this plugin. I am using it with my denon avr-s750h. Everything works fine, except volume sync. I am experiencing abnormal volume level discrepancies at lower lms levels. For exampe 5% on lms leads to 20% on my avr. 10% to 28.5%,15% to 30%. This is way to coarse for my needs...

Is this a bug or is this behavior intended? If yes, could it be turned off somehoe? I think I read something about less linear volume in the documentation. It is extremely annoying for me and I think there should definitely be an option to pass the volume 1:1 to the avr.

Thanks for the feedback. First of all, are you aware of the user forum for the plugin here? That is where issues such as this are usually discussed. To answer your question, yes it is intentional. It sounds to me, though, that your problem is more related to the granularity of the client's volume control than the algorithm used to translate client volume to AVR volume. What client app are you using? Most apps have a setting for the % increment sent for each press of the volume up/down buttons. I have found that a value of 2% is optimal for use with the plugin. 5% is too coarse, especially at lower listening levels.

By the way, the AVR volume is not a straight percentage but a relative dB value based on the maximum AVR volume specified in the plugin's player setup menu.

If you would like to continue the discussion, please do so on the forum where other users can benefit and contribute. Thanks.
