Attachment as BLOB #31

I just wanted to point out this interesting Experience Builder bug a user found. Case #02597021

Basically, when:

  1. a user adds a point to a layer with attachments enabled,
  2. through a Survey123 Form in Experience Builder,
  3. and the user does not add an attachment before submitting the form entry,
  4. then: a “blob” attachment is being added to the entry.

Here is the reproduction case:

  1. User adds a point using Survey123 through ExB app and does not specify an attachment.

  2. The point is added and a “blob” file is added – which is basically a black page.

  3. BUT, if the point is added directly through Survey123 and no attachment is specified.

  4. No attachment is added to the point (which is the expected behavior)

A black image attachment makes it confusing for someone who’s expecting the picture of a fire! Maybe something we can fix for the next release?

Thanks for sharing. Very impressed with the viewer count on this WAB app, one of the best. Will tag you once it is triaged. Agree that we should fix it in the upcoming release.
