I have been using your AppImage files since before the 2.10 point release and they have all run well. Ever since your postings of 2.10.7 (namely the Sept 8th and 13th postings to date) my version of Ubuntu won't load the file - I get the GIMP screen logo and a few plugin load notifications, then nothing. I have no problems running the latest 2.10.5 AppImage. I am running Ubuntu 18.04.1(LTS). Also I notice that the file size, even with plugins is very much smaller in 2.10.7 (120Mb) vs 2.10.5 (162Mb). Are we missing some dependencies that were previously included in the AppImage files?

@KenLidd I have never seen such error messages... I will investigate.

Could you also post the terminal output you get when running the 2.10.5 AppImage that works properly? I'd like to compare the messages, to see which one could be the responsible for the crash.

Here is the terminal output when loading GIMP AppImage 2.10.5 which runs fine for digital editing purposes. I don't normally load via the terminal so I haven't noticed all these messages before and certainly don't know what they mean. I hope this helps.

Could you try to start the GIMP AppImage with the Logitech USB Receiver unplugged, and see if it still crashes or not?

You are correct - when I unplugged the Logitech USB wireless mouse & keyboard, the 2.10.7 GIMP AppImage file opened as normal. Not sure if I understand if there is a workaround fix yet for this - I need the mouse & keyboard. I assume this is now a well known issue and will be fixed in upcoming releases. As far as I understood, you can plug back your USB device once GIMP has started.

If there is a fix upstream, it will be picked by the next build.

The latest version - Oct 18th appimage - now works without having to disable the mouse on startup of GIMP. Now, if only we could get our essential plugins back!
