Feature Request - integrate xsane? #41

This is an issue I've had with Appimage and Flatpak versions of GIMP. I can't see how to get the 'Create' dialog to display a xsane option for inputting a file from a scanner.

This is not a big deal, as it's easy enough to use xsane stand-alone to do the scanning, and then to open the resulting file in GIMP. Still, it would be nice to use your Appimage GIMP as I've been used to with Ubuntu distributions from Otto Kesselgulasch.

That said, I would not be surprised if your assessment that such plugins just don't play well with the Appimage concept is the answer. This issue has been raised before : https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Scanner-is-not-recognised-by-GIMP. I was just hoping that you might have more recent insight into it.

xsane works with the 2.10.18 appimage - fantastic.
