Issues opening Gimp xcf files #57

I am uncertain as to if this is an issue with the Appimage build or a more fundamental Gimp issue. I thought I would start here first.

Linuxmint 18.3 Mate 64-bit

I have been using GIMP_AppImage-git-2.10.21-20200806-withplugins-x86_64.AppImage and all seemed ok until I tried to open an xcf file from 2 to 3 years ago. The file never opens and I have to kill the process. Eventually I tried a 2.10.19 appimage and this opened the file without error. I then checked more files in this project folder and I experienced the same issue.

Working my way backwards all the August appimages have the same problem until GIMP_AppImage-git-2.10.21-20200723-withplugins-x86_64.AppImage which is OK and opens the files without error.

So before I open an issue at Gimp.org I thought it best to run this by you.

BTW Just to check, I installed the latest Flatpak and all works as expected.

After further testing I cannot reliably repeat this issue so I will close it for now and test some more.
