Waveform, play selected subtitle #181

When I select a subtitle in the waveform (with double click), and then
RIGHT+CLICK, PLAY SELECTION, it works fine.

But, when I press the shortcut for "Play selection" it does not play the
current selected subtitle.
It plays another subtitle (the one that was played before with "play selection"
using the menu).
The shortcut I used was F2.

I hope I was clear enough. Kind regards...

(Subtitle Edit 3.3.9. Windows 8 x64)

The shortcut plays "new selection"...

You want a new shortcut for play "first selected subtitle" ?

Interesting. But the shortcut says "Play selection". That's why I thought it
was the same as RIGHT CLICK on waveform and select "Play selection".

Maybe a new shortcut is needed as you suggested. It would be used to check the
current subtitle, where you're working on. For example, you changed the times
or the text and want to hear it play.
(The button "Play from just before text" plays a subtitle but does not stop
after it.)

Or maybe a new shortcut it's not needed after all. I mean, if the selection is
the same as the first selected subtitle, there is now NEW selection. So why not
just play that subtitle?
Maybe "play selection" and "play new selection" should be the same thing? I'm
not sure i understang the difference.

Thanks for everything...

There's the new selection in the waveform (that does not yet exist as a real
subtitle paragraph) + there's the existing active selection in the list
view/text box. Both can be present at the same time.

I've made a new shortcut in latest version (and svn):

I'm terribly sorry, but I see that there is a shortcut called "Play current
paragraph and stop right after". It's set to F5.
I didn't see it because it's not on the shortcuts list (I just saw it on the
web page).

Nevertheless the change you did it's great, because it plays the subtitle from
a little before to a little after it, so it's perfect to check the reading
speed.
It would be great if it worked everywhere (not just in the waveform).

F5 does work everywhere.
