Map tiles bg colour

Can we add a colour the tiles? so when the page first loads you can see the map? I tried but it didn't seem to do anything (I didn't try very hard).

Yes we definitely can.

Tbh I'm not particularly happy with the loading.

How about:

• Shows the colour when initially loaded
• then each one blinks off as it loads it's images
• then the animate image starts.

Currently the animate images starts before all images are loaded so the first loop ends up with gaps, which looks buggy and generally sub standard.

Yeah something like that... Load the map with bg colour in place, each image blinks into a tile, continue to cycle through the images (i.e. there shouldn't be blank tiles at any point).
