Getting mutate error on step 1 #3

Was planning to get things running prior to our meeting and I'm getting the following error in the second code chunk in step 1:

Error in UseMethod("mutate") : no applicable method for 'mutate' applied to an object of class "NULL"

looks like it might have tried to load data that's not there. Did you specify the working directory?
