German log files have different names for columns #2

Open agibson2 opened 1 year ago

If someone can translate what the column names below would be in German, I can try to just search for those column names also. I have no experience with multi-language scripting but I am reading up on it.

'Alt(ft)' 'Altitude(ft)' 'Alt(m)' 'Altitude(m)' 'GAlt(m)' 'GPS Alt(m)' 'GAlt(ft)' 'GPS Alt(ft)' 'GPS' 'Longitude' 'Latitude'

'Alt(ft)' => --- 'Altitude(ft)' => --- 'Alt(m)' => Flugh¨he(m) (Flughöhe(m)/Flughoehe(m)) 'Altitude(m)' => Flugh¨he(m) 'GAlt(m)' => --- 'GPS Alt(m)' => GPS Alt(m) 'GAlt(ft)' => --- 'GPS Alt(ft)' => --- 'GPS' => --- 'Longitude' => L’ngengrad ( Längengrad/ Laengengrad) 'Latitude' => Breitengrad

In addition I can find:

I hope this helps.

Thanks. I see multiple names for the same thing though which confuses me. Can you attach a log file with only the first line in it (the column names)?

keiner0815 commented 1 year ago

Yeah, shure Antaris-2022-10-05-16-06-45_edit.csv

Try the latest version. There is a new directory de-DE where the translation file is that the script depends on. Let me know if that works. Your file was needed to find out what non-ascii character was being used for some of the words.

It depends on your OS that you run the powershell script from being set to the de-DE locale to match the log file. I assume your OS you set to German.

I could't get the script to work via powershell, I only get the >> arrows But I tried it with Visual Studio Code and was able to execute the code.

But it seems that https://ayvri.com/ does not work anymore. So do you have a similar Homepasge where I can view the file?

agibson2 commented 1 year ago

Strange. It works from a powershell console for me.

That is really unfortunate about Ayvri. The last time I messaged them about a year or 2 ago for a feature request, they mentioned they were not making any money from it anymore so couldn't spend any resources on it. They had moved onto totally different ventures. I guess they have to finally shut it down. I am not aware of anything that worked as well as that site did. I will certainly keep searching though. If you find something let me know.

I might have found one from a random google search leading to a forum post about replacing avry...

https://www.sportstracklive.com/

EDIT: looks like $7.19 a month for 3d replays :/. It is at least an alternative if we really need one and have the spare cash. $3 a month would have been an easy decision for me. $7 will take some thought.

3d tracks appear to be free (at least it worked for me... maybe because I marked it private only though). Still checking out the site.

Another alternative to Ayvri that is free without any nagging with low res maps. High res maps require membership $5. sportstracklive seems like a better site though.

I got it to work in the powershell window, just had to remove the " before the path and it worked.

So from your example it hast to be Frsky2Gpx.ps1 -UseVarioHeight -Filename C:\Users\Someuser\Documents\Arctus-2022-01-21-13-40-00.csv instead of Frsky2Gpx.ps1 -UseVarioHeight -Filename "C:\Users\Someuser\Documents\Arctus-2022-01-21-13-40-00.csv

Another possibility would be to use Google Earth. That is available for free.

The company SM-Modellbau from Germany is using it: https://www.sm-modellbau.de/media/image/product/358/md/gps-logger-3~2.jpg

I don't know what format this is, but it can be opened in Google Earth and you have many additional information for every point of the path. So for example you can see the vertical speed and see where yu had the most lift.

Would that be possible?

agibson2 commented 1 year ago

Google earth views didn't appease me. I like a dedicated site for viewing and sharing the 3d flight views. What I want isn't what everyone wants though I am sure. That is great if Google Earth is good enough for you though.

I will give 3d tracks a try. Could you Post a link to it? Found some sites via Google, but don't know which one is the right one.

agibson2 commented 1 year ago

I wasn't clear in my post. What I meant was that the viewing the 3d map/tracks from https://www.sportstracklive.com/ appears to be free.

keiner0815 commented 1 year ago

I was able to upload it into sportstracklive. But it shows the track relative to the ground with a fixed offset. I can change the offset in the settings of sportstracklive, but I can't see the real height of every point. The height pofile on the bottom of the screen seems correct, but the height data of the track isn't. Do you know if that is due to the file or is there a setting wrong at sportstracklive? Also the speed information is ometimes 0
