I learned recently from greg publishing a map with labels is that you can assign labels to a font that only exist on your machine. I recommend looking at the list of fonts that arcgis supports so we don't run into that issue of labels etc only looking like you want them on machines that have the custom font. The way I looked at the fonts was to open the map viewer label panel and open the drop down.
What map did Greg publish, from where, and how? The vector tiles that I've published haven't had any font problems in agol.
It is the map in https://gis.utah.gov/blog/2024-05-17-utah-housing-affordability-map/ He published it from Pro When I was using the esri web components to display it on our blog, I noticed a missing font error in the console. It falls back to a system font but it's something to be aware of. You may not notice any issues since you have the custom fonts on your system.
Benefit
Base maps that are easier and faster to maintain and update than traditional raster base maps. Vector tiles also render better and are more portable than current raster base maps.
