These renders showcase projections of Melbourne's future environments exploring various conceptions of liveability, referencing data from running simulations for factors such as wind, water, sunlight, shadow and biodiversity reveal layers of human liveability.

The aim of our research and visualisations is to explore ways to make Melbourne CBD more liveable.

While simulations and data are aimed towards the professionals in the infrastructure industry, the visualisation relate to the general public in their castings of the future of Melbourne CBD given we continue as we are, become worse or become better.

A DEEP DIVE INTO 'WHAT IF' SCENARIOS

VINGETTE 1 - continuing as we are A pleasant reimagining of high density residential spaces within the city that achieve a '5 minute city' to have an experience balancing green spaces and every-day living.

VINGETTE 2 - ideal A utopian vision of Chinatown is created to think of potential ways to make Melbourne greener and more sustainable whilst integrating a mixed-use area to increase liveliness and liveability.

VINGETTE 3 - too far A dystopian vision taking place at the Parliament building showing what happens if 'utopia' is taken too far.
