Advanced ringtone settings get forgotten #108

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

To reproduce (development version):

1. Go into advanced settings
2. Check the 'Play Ringtone (during speech)' box and select a ringtone
3. Go out of SayMyName
4. Receive a call - there is no ringtone, just the speech
5. Go back to the advanced settings to figure out why
6. The box is unchecked, and the selected ringtone has been unselected

Hm... The ringtone should start AFTER speech has finished. Did you wait long
enough?

Also, the box doesn't uncheck itself on my phone after closing SayMyName. :/

I'm seeing other settings resetting themselves as well. I think it's not able
to save them at all, and I suspect it might be some kind of permissions problem
resulting from me installing the release version, then later installing a
development version built from source. In other words, maybe not a bug. I'll
investigate this further.

Apologies - I tracked this down to a bug in the AOSP build I'm running. The
shared prefs file for SayMyName was owned by the wrong user, so it couldn't
write to it.

I would close this issue for you, but it won't let me.

Hello Ciaran,

Thanks for updating this issue. I'll close it now.

By the way, would you be interested in helping us test a new update for
SayMyName? It's not yet ready, but I would love to hear your criticism when
it's finished.
Please send me a mail if you want to help us test it.

Tom
