SayMyName Doesn't mute K-9 email notifications when notifications are turned off. #54

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enable K9 email notification
2. Use Sound Manager to mute notifications after a certain time (late night).
3. Get woken up by K9 receiving an email at 2am (Say my name).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead
Say My Name should honor Sound Manager settings and not announce emails when
the volume should be muted.

What version of the product are you using?

The latest on the Android market (2.2.3?)

Please provide any additional information below.

Hello,

SayMyName doesn't speak if your phone is set to vibrate or silent.
Otherwise, SayMyName doesn't check if K9-Mail-notifications are turned on or
off. That's not my job, sorry!

Tom

I have a similar problem with saymyname Gmail notifications. I don't silence
my phone at night, but I do silence Android notifications. However, even with
notifications silenced, saymyname will still read out gmail received when the
notifications are silenced.

If the phone is silenced, it will stay silent, but not if only notifications
are silenced. Is there some way to silence saymyname's gmail notifications at
night?

You could use the widget to disable SayMyName at night with just one click.
Is that ok for you?
