Lower ringtone volume as name is announced, raise ringtone volume when not speaking... #79

I did not want to completely eliminate my ringtone in order to hear the name of
the caller/texter/mailer. However, after trying all different options (even
restarting the phone), the only way I can hear the spoken name is to not use a
ringtone.

Shouldn't there be an option to temporarily lower the volume of the ringtone
each time the name is spoken? Alternatively, what about an option to allow the
name to be spoken before the ringtone begins?

In the advanced settings, I have tried checking the Play Ringtone box so that
it displays "...after I've announced the caller". However, this does nothing
but reset my ringtone to the phone's default ringtone. The ringtone still
begins immediately, thus conflicting with and essentially covering the spoken
name.

I am using the HTC Incredible, with SayMyName Dessert 2.3.3

Thanks!

Hello,

Unfortunately Android doesn't allow me to pause Ringtone. However, I could
lower the ringtone's volume, but I don't think that this is what users want.

But I think you can still fix your problem:
Either you lower the volume of your ringtone per default (using the
volume-buttons on your phone) and set a ringtone-independent volume for
SayMyName in Advanced Settings or you wait until I've fixed "Play Ringtone"
feature.

Sorry
Tom
