Can not save studio with layout including httpImageSource.wspl pipeline #27

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install httpImageSource.wspl
2. Test out by connecting to a networked camera (works)
3. Save the studio with the layout including the network camera
4. Try to load the saved studio,
5. No Joy!

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the layout which I had setup for the networked cam work
instead, nothing loads, I can go back to the Studios drop down and load
one of the other ones that just has analogue web cams, it loads and runs.

Appears it does not like the pipeline file, but not sure if it is that
or what.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.57 dev build 92.
Ubuntu 10.04 64bit

Please provide any additional information below.
I can set up the initial layout and test, I can see video on the netcams
just fine, NOTE I have multiple netcams, it will not allow me to load
more than one. (acts like the issue where there are multiple web cams
of the same type). A single networked cam works just fine, I tried two
different ones out, one at 640x480 and the other at 1280x800, both looked
very good. No herkeyjerky...

Need a kick me button on here. I looked and found a new update, I just
downloaded it and now the studio will load a studio with a network cam layout
in it. VERY GOOD.

Now if I can figure out how to view more than 1 network camera.

There was some issues with loading studio at some point. Glad you updated and
fixed your problem. To have more network webcam, simply make a copy of the
wspl file, each one for your net devices. Name the files according to the
desired cam...

Yes, I was at build 92, I had looked and saw Rev .057, but did
not look at the build, thought we were still at where it was
a few days ago, assumed too much, went back and looked at the
build and realized I was behind. Pulled it down and now almost
all is working.

The only piece I am not getting to work is multiple netcams.
I took two cams I KNOW I can see video from with your app,
then I created a copy of the wspl file but with a different
name, went in and tested two cameras, the first one came up
just fine, but the second one never did. If I swapped them
around and tested the 2nd one first, then it came up but the
first one which I was now testing as the 2nd would not come
up. I was able to add the bezel cam on the laptop, and ano-
ther web cam, but not two network or ip cams. I have a load
of them here (I do security camera systems and use IP cam-
eras exclusively, so I have several different cams to test
from). I like the IP cameras because they all have good and
high resolution, so if someone wants a few frames of some-
thing they can count the hairs on I can send them the frames
even if they have to go out at only a few per second.

If you have anything or steps in particular you want me to
test I can do so. I can also gather logs, just tell me what
you want.

Well, I tried some other cameras, turns out it does not
like the D-Link DCS-910 which is rather common. It has
two different video streams, I tried both of them and no
joy, but I tried a ACTi ACM-5711 running 1280x720, and it
worked just fine with a BrickComm WCP-100 running 1280X800.

So it is some compatibility issue with the D-Link. Which
is interesting because I can almost get the toilet to show
video off of one of those cameras. I even have some that
require a login in order to access the video stream, I was
able to add the login/pwd into the URL and it came right
up, added a 2nd known working camera, and now I have video
from both of them.

I will just have to find out what works and what does not,
the big thing is that it does work, just have to take into
account that some cameras may not cooperate.
