The practical guidelines are mostly about learning SBSE. Should we explain that these are practical guidelines for those who are familiar with MSR but not with SBSE to be able to work on DSE? If they were guidelines for DSE, then we would need to include MSR guidelines here too.

A very good observation. Part 1 of this article to appear at MSR, Part 2 to appear at FSE/...?

I think a comment like your suggestion "practical guidelines ... familiar with MSR ... work on DSE" is good. This way, it is a proposal for DSE, with the target-audience-specific writing.

[I know that it can backfire stressing one direction but not the other. A careful wording is needed, yours seems good.]
