What does "strong protection" in the app mean? Is it encryption?? Whats the deal with "medium protection"?

If its only the redundancy of the transmission, I would rename it, its kinda misleading^^

You are right, a manual is overdue but this is an open source and free app, so I can only invest so much time in it. If you want to help, please be my guest.

The "protection" here means the level of forward error correction used:

normal protection => 2/3-rate code (mode 14)
medium protection => 1/2-rate code (mode 15)
strong protection => 1/3-rate code (mode 16)
