FYI it appears that the domain "gosmd.net" might be used for other more nefarious purposes now, since this project seems long abandoned.

I have been trying to change the external ip address from echo.gosmd.net to http://myexternalip.com/raw but I cannot figure out how to build the project ... any help from other mac developers ?

Second this. Obviously the app still runs with near-full functionality apart from the external IP check. But I have no app dev experience and cannot get my Xcode-built versions to run like the PKG version.

For those mac users trying to update their namecheap DNS host I would suggest using ddclient since this is no longer being maintained. Instructions can be found at https://www.dynu.com/DynamicDNS/IPUpdateClient/DDClientOSX.
