Team's Response

Thank you for the report, we believe that you are referring to issue #1443 that you posted. The underlying issue seems to be the same thing. We have followed the exact steps that you listed, and we are unable to reproduce this error. As shown below, the daily goal increases as expected:

Here, we list several possible explanations for the issue you are facing.

  1. You may be using an older release of StudyBuddy downloaded from our Github page.
  2. Your instructions to reproduce the error may not be a complete description of how you ran into the error.

The daily goal panel is a peripheral (and fun) feature of the application and does not affect how the user manages his task. Moreover, from our testing, it has worked for all possible cases, you may have encountered a very rare situation, and this might not be a bug in the application itself. Following the guidelines on bug severity, we will put the severity of this bug report as Low. This corresponds to "A flaw that is unlikely to affect normal operations of the product. Appears only in very rare situations and causes a minor inconvenience only." We will set the status as Cannot Reproduce, as none of the team members and other testers have reproduced this error. We thank you for the bug report.

 Issue response

Team chose [response.CannotReproduce]

Reason for disagreement: 1. As stated in another similar bug report, I version of StudyBuddy I was using is from the link that Prof sent. As such, it may be that your group accidentally uploaded an outdated version of the app to Luminus.

  1. Again, the set of commands i used is exactly as stated in my bug report. Since it only occured to me, i would accept that its Low. But once again, I believe that this affects the user's experience of the application since its always 1 task lesser than the actual number of completed tasks. E.g user has already completed 5 tasks, but since the app does not update each time, it'll only show 4. This might affect the user's confidence in the app to accurately track the number of tasks completed.
