Scrolling in pdf produces unnecessary flashing with e-ink devices #141

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a multipage pdf file
2. Use the one-touch controls to scroll through the file

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Without any animations I would expect the reader to show the next segment of
the page. Instead it first show (for a short moment) something in between and
then the final page segment. For normal android devices this is no problem but
for e-ink devices
this leads to two unnecessary updates of the display (the display flashes three
times on my reader) and a delay before the final output is displayed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
EBookDroid 1.3.3-dev revision 887

What device are you using?
Sony Prs-T1

Please provide any additional information below.
The new auto cropping is awesome and I hope this issue can also be resolved.
Then it is by far the best pdf reader for the Prs-T1.

Sorry, we do not have any eink android devices, so we can not test this. Also
E-Ink is not our high priority target.

For e-ink devices, use Orion Viewer (http://code.google.com/p/orion-viewer/)

An option to disable scrolling animations can be tested on any device. It
doesn't need to be e-ink. Some users of smartphones and tablets could also find
this useful.

You can use single page mode with no animations.

Continuous page mode is what makes EbookDroid useful for small screens.

I've encountered the very same problem (I'm also a PRS-T1 user)
