does n(z) which is the number per comoving volume as a function of z, which is easily transformed. We could work with that if you prefer. The transformation between what I call N(z) and n(z) is made with the comoving volume interval, which is computed here: http://arxiv.org/abs/astro-ph/9905116

That might be a better thing to work with!
