In order to maximize the usefulness of #43, I'll add read/write functions to the PDF (and/or survey) objects.

I'd planned for #75 to partially address this but ended up skirting it entirely. This is still necessary for the at-scale test and will likely involve significant refactoring of #43.

This was satisfactorily implemented in scripts and not in qp itself, so this issue is closed.
