What are you considering doing if you don’t have this integration through Airbyte?

• Pulling from database directly - a lot of the data includes hashes and metadata.
• A lot of joining and transforming is required at destination to create anything suitable for marketers
• Pulling from matomo API means it generates tables that are based on (joined and compiled) data that is already available in the matomo web UI

Also, in Slack you mentioned an interest in reading the Matomo tables directly. Is this separate from that? It sounds like you are recommending the API only because DB approach is tedious?
