In real-time do I need to process other data or
to be able to pull in other data sets to keep long
term? Define and operationalize a messaging
protocol through some kid of web services
between vendors using an independent 3rd
party like AIRS

AIRS LOV standard has search built in via SPARQL queries. https://github.com/airsalliance/lov

The JSON API for 4.0 may have this feature, but needs discussion.
