Alex H made a patchset for moving the majority of worker node generation into a function, for DRY. It never made it past the finish line, and needs to be adopted and rounded out.

Oops, meant to put this on airshipctl rather than treasuremap. Replaced by: https://github.com/airshipit/airshipctl/issues/537
